For those devoted christians, I applaud your devotion to God and I want to let you know you inspire us to be better. I, however, am not perfect. I definitely love Jesus Christ with all my heart and am grateful for the sacrifice he made, but yes, I forget to pray and thank him.
But because our Lord and savior is righteous, merciful, loving, and kind, I know I’m not going to burn in hellfire for forgetting to pray. I want to remind each and every one of you of the love that God represents. Would you send your children into a boiling pot of water because they didn’t do their homework? Would you spank them until their bottoms bleed because they forgot to thank you for the meal you just made after a 9-5 work day in an office filled with baboons who also have lack of manners?
Even though some of us may not kneel and dedicate a specific time to him during random or scheduled hours of the day, there are those of us who talk to him throughout the day at all times. Just because we don’t kneel doesn’t mean we disrespect him. He’s OUR FATHER. He wants us to talk to him and confess everything that bothers us.
1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18 “Be joyful always, pray at all times, be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus.”
Silly, right? We can’t be joyful all the time. That’s barbaric! No, and it’s barbaric for “our father” to punish us because we’re not on our knees twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
I bring up this topic because all day today–though I was talking to him from within– I still felt guilty because I hadn’t actually kneeled down all day. It was my anniversary and I just had things to do and I wanted to do so much, but I didn’t feel like praying. So–I felt bad, but then I remembered who God is.
He probably inspired me to write this post–who knows? The next time you’re busy or just lounging around the house and you don’t feel like getting on your knees, make an effort to confess everything to God and let him know that at least, you are most definitely thinking about him.
May the Lord be with you all and many blessings! He is Awesome!
